3 five-pointed stars from corn bast are symbol of 3 brothers fallen in National Liberation War Yugoslav people against occupier on the territory of Yugoslavia and Slovenia in the period of II. World War in the years 1942 and 1945, leaded by Communist party of Yugoslavia.

In II. World War participants of National Liberation army, they were named partisans as in Soviet Union, suffered the greatest loss in Slovenia. Around 27.000 participants of National Liberation army were killed. The majority were killed in battle with German, Italian and militia army.
